TMB was an amazing experience, with a perfect organization, inspiring people from all over Germany and very different backgrounds, a challenging program and an incredible party on the second night. Overall it was a great opportunity to network and find out about job options within the Bertelsmann Group. Moreover, my team won the third prize, another inspiring weekend in Berlin, visiting the Babelsberg film studios and a great supporting program.
After three intense days exploring the world of Bertelsmann, I was even more convinced of the company being an attractive employer.
Before attending the TMB event in 2012 I was already in contact with Gruner + Jahr via an internship in summer 2011 for the Corporate Editors GmbH, where I had the chance to establish good contacts. Moreover I was fortunate enough that G+J provided a scholarship for my Master’s studies.
What happened afterwards:
After the TMB event, while I was working on my Master’s thesis during summer 2012, I attended different job interviews for Gruner + Jahr and arvato. In the end I chose my job: Publishing Manager Digital Media at G+J Corporate Editors GmbH. The job started in December 2012, allowing me to travel to Australia between the end of the Master’s and the start of the new job for a few weeks, which was the perfect transition.
What I’m doing now:
I have been in my new job since December 2012. It is a challenging and inspiring role, with a lot of responsibility, creativity and a wide variety of functions. As Publishing Manager Digital Media, I am responsible for the full process of creating media products such as websites, apps, electronic newsletters, etc. for different clients inside and outside the Bertelsmann Group. Within the job I am in touch with conception, production, distribution, control, market analysis and a lot of general project management. A job guaranteeing a steep learning curve and a very good choice.
